Andrew E. Burdsall

President

Andy Burdsall is the president of Riverbend Financial Group, LLC. He focuses on values-based financial planning, effective asset and cash flow management and efficient charitable giving. He holds the Behavioral Financial Advisor designation.

Andy grew up in the Air Force and moved around the country, landing in Kansas City when his father retired, and he entered the fourth grade. Upon completion of high school, he attended Iowa State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Andy worked in engineering, supervision, and management for Fortune 50 companies until 1999, when he and his wife, Deanna, decided it was time for a career change. Andy joined American Express Financial Advisors and eventually moved his practice from Louisville, Kentucky to New Albany, Indiana. He was instrumental in the formation of Navigator Financial Group in December 2001, became the sole owner of the business in September 2003 and continued as president when the business became Riverbend Financial Group LLC in July 2007. As a sister firm to Riverbend Physicians, Riverbend Financial serves clients coming from a wide range of demographics and geographies.

Andy is a Registered Principal with Securities America, Inc. and is an Investment Advisory Representative of Securities America Advisors, Inc.

Deanna and Andy live in Southern Indiana with their three girls, Kate, Camryn, and Ellie. They enjoy volunteering at church and are very active in the girls’ activities, although empty nesting is coming fast.

Adam Henley

Vice President

Adam is the Vice President of Riverbend Financial Group. He helps lead the Riverbend team, assists the financial advisors in developing and growing their practices, and provides attentive service to our clients.

Adam is a lifelong resident of Southern Indiana, graduating from New Albany High School in 1996 and Indiana University Southeast in 2000. He joined the office in 1998 through an internship program offered by IUS and has helped grow and transition the firm into Riverbend Financial Group. Adam has his Series 7, and Series 66, as well as his Life & Health Insurance Certification.

Adam married his lovely wife, Tiffany, in 2000. They live in Henryville with their two children, Parker and Sophie. In his free time, he enjoys watching his kids participate in a variety of sports and activities. He also enjoys being active, getting outside, watching sports, playing computer games with Parker, and just hanging out with the family.

Kristina English

Kristina English, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Kristina English is a Financial Advisor with Riverbend Financial Group, LLC and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Kristina believes in relationship-based financial advising and works personally with her clients to help them achieve their goals and dreams. She assists her clients in developing financial plans and implementing recommendations in areas of wealth management, retirement and investment planning, risk management, along with estate and tax planning. Kristina also helps her clients with insurance planning for Medicare, life, disability, long-term care, and health insurance, both on and off the exchange.

Kristina holds a Master of Science in health care administration and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Western Kentucky University. She has her Series 7, 65, and 66 securities licenses, along with her life, health, and annuity insurance licenses in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, Illinois, and Missouri. She is an alumni member of the 2017 Leadership Southern Indiana DISCOVER class. Kristina volunteered with Leadership Southern Indiana for several years serving as the committee chair for the NEXGEN program, while also serving as a member of the Leadership Southern Indiana Advisory Board.

Kristina and her husband, John, live in Jeffersonville and have two children, Ethan and Jake. Now that her children are grown, she is enjoying more time with her husband and focusing on some of her hobbies of cooking, working out, and spending time with friends.

Ian Vertrees

Operations Coordinator

Ian is the Operations Coordinator at Riverbend. He works behind the scenes to support clients and their advisors through all aspects of their financial journeys.

A New Albany native, Ian studied Telecommunications at Ball State University before launching a career in media. After more than 20 years on the radio, Ian sought a new challenge and transitioned into the financial industry where he is excited to be part of the Riverbend team.

Ian and his wife, Marjie, live in Sellersburg with their two very spoiled cats, Elizabeth Grace and Luke William. He enjoys music, movies, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and cheering on the Louisville Cardinals.

Joe Burdsall

General Manager

Joe was born in Germany outside of Ramstein Air Force Base. After a couple of Air Force moves, he landed with his family in Kansas City where he completed his education through high school. The summer after his graduation, Joe entered the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. There, he graduated as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served for five years at Fort Lewis, Washington, as an Armor Officer, finishing his service as a Captain. Joe owned and operated a picture framing business outside of Fort Lewis for 13 years where he provided awards and recognition to those still serving. He also worked for several years as a production manager, project manager, and operations manager at two manufacturing plants. In 2018, Joe’s wife Vanessa retired after 21 years in the Army. Noticing a good opportunity to make a big life change, Joe and Vanessa made the decision to move closer to family, relocating from the Pacific Northwest.

Joe’s substantial experience in management and operations makes him the perfect fit to keep things running smoothly and efficiently at Riverbend.

Joe, Vanessa, and their dog Max now live in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and are pleased to call Kentuckiana their new home.

Shelby Cunliffe

Client Experience Manager

Shelby is the Client Experience Manager here at Riverbend Financial group, LLC. She is responsible for making sure our clients feel welcomed, are attended to, and cared for with attentive and detailed service. She also assists advisors and operations staff with miscellaneous projects.

Shelby lives a simple yet fulfilling life with her husband, a car dealership owner in Clarksville, IN. They are proud pawrents to their rescued Beagle-Jack Russell mix, Buddy Boy. When they are not busy selling cars or boating on the Ohio River, you can find them relaxing at home with their favorite reality TV shows.

Jamie Ritchie

Operations Specialist

Jamie is the Operations Specialist here at Riverbend Financial Group, LLC. She is responsible for meeting preparation, account maintenance activities and providing our clients and advisors with efficient, attentive service. Jamie was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She spent several years working with children in foster care before coming to work with Riverbend Group.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Alicia Atchley

Chief Operating Officer

Alicia is the newest member of the Riverbend team. She looks forward to supporting the team and being the best leader and resource she can be. She will focus on streamlining operations and making sure the team is well equipped to continue serving Riverbend’s clients with excellence.

Alicia has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, but has somehow made her way in the corporate world, most recently working in the payments industry at a Fortune 500 Company as the Manager of Business Operations and Employee Engagement.

Alicia and her husband, Chris, are from Southern IN and are proud to raise their family here. They have two children, Cohen and Marley. Cohen and Marley chose two sports without bleachers, golf and cross country; so, they spend more time than most at golf and cross-country courses, even though they do not swing clubs or run (unless they are being chased).

Alicia enjoys traveling with her family (especially to the mountains), hiking, cooking with Chris, reading and adding to her collection of fun earrings.
